Be Confident and Be Happy

Many people lack self confidence.

Your level of confidence can affect your success in love and personal relationships, in your career and in other areas of your life. Ultimately, you may feel unhappy with certain aspects of your life because you feel as though your life could be better if you only had the confidence to take certain actions as opportunities presented themselves to you.

Gaining self confidence can help you to find a greater level of satisfaction in certain areas of your life, and this process may not be quite as difficult as you might think.

It is common for people who lack self confidence to have doubts and worries about their own physical limitations. They may not feel secure about getting up in front of a large crowd and speaking to hundreds of people. They may feel they don't have the skills and stamina to accept a job opportunity presented to them and to perform that job well.

They feel as though they don't have the qualities another person would find attractive and appealing in a mate, so they may avoid romantic relationships. The fact is that no person is without doubts and concerns. The difference between a person who has self confidence and one who lacks self confidence is how those doubts and worries are dealt with.

Whether you are concerned about going to a party and enjoying yourself in a group of people or speaking in front of a huge crowd for a work presentation, consider analyzing why you are concerned about the event. Everyone is afraid they may talk to a group of people with lettuce stuck between their teeth at a party or tripping and falling on stage in front of hundreds of people.

However, take a moment to consider what may happen after that worst-case scenario happens. Will most people laugh at you if you do trip and fall? In actuality, there may be gasps of concern more than laughter. By thinking through the situation more fully, you actually can plan for that "what if" scenario that is eating away at you. You can develop a plan for coping with the worst possible scenario.

One of the key differences between people with self confidence and those who lack self confidence is the ability to put those doubts to the back burner and take action. Self confident individuals are not people who lack self-doubt and worries. Instead, they are individuals who acknowledge what may happen and take a step forward anyway.

Speaking in front of a large audience can be a very large and uncomfortable first step to take. Instead, consider taking smaller actions and building up your level of self-confidence. Push yourself out of your comfort zone little by little. Take note of what happens when you do take chances in life.

The fact is that no person will experience a life filled with success. There will be embarrassing fiascoes, failed attempts at turning opportunities into successes and more. However, you simply need to find a way to analyze your doubts and concerns, and put them to the side so that you can take action. No situation will be absolutely perfect, and understanding and accepting this can help you to gain the level of self confidence you are looking for.
